Monday, 2/11/19: Today in class, 1st, 5th, 6th and 7th periods viewed presentations created by some advanced students about the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s and the Birmingham Church Bombing of 1963. Afterward, we read chapter 3 of The Watsons Go to Birmingham.
4th period: Viewed the poem and song, "The Ballad of Birmingham" and then read chapter 1 of The Watsons Go to Birmingham.
Tuesday, 2/12/19: Today in all classes, students will make sure their STEM portfolio (Book Creator) is up to date and that it contains all required information. These portfolios are due on Wednesday,
Wednesday, 2/13/19: Students in 1st, 5th, 6th and 7th periods will begin researching a famous African American of their choice and creating a Google slides presentation about the person to share with classmates. This will count as one daily grade and will be due on Wednesday, 2/20/19.
4th period: Will do "cold reads" and complete the next lesson in Read to Achieve.
Thursday, 2/14/19: All of Mrs. Hulsey's classes will go to the library for independent reading time and to take RC tests. Students who have all of their points will be rewarded with game time on their Chromebooks since MakerSpace is not opened back up yet. RC points are due Friday, March 8, 2019.
Friday, 2/15/19: All classes will read chapter 4 of The Watsons Go to Birmingham and complete comprehension questions for a daily grade. Students may read and listen to music since it is Friday and finish up their famous African Americans presentation. 4th period will complete "Hot reads"
Hi! I'm Mrs. Kelly Hulsey. I am a graduate of FCHS. I received a Bachelor of Arts in English from KSU in 2006 and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of North Georgia in 2013.
